Rice fermentation product (monascus purpureus) used for centuries as a “medicinal food” that helps blood circulation. It contains “plant statins” monocolins, mainly represented by monocolin K, which act as inhibitors of HMG-Co reductase (an enzyme that controls the biosynthesis of cholesterol in liver cells.

Other active ingredients are sterols, isoflavones and monounsaturated fatty acids. GUGGUL (COMMIPHORA MUKUL). Plant of the family Burseraceae. Guggulsterones (E and Z stereoisomers) are isolated from the plant resin, which act as antagonists of farsenoid-x receptors and lead to reduced cholesterol synthesis in the liver.

– Guggulsterones act as plant sterols and compete with cholesterol in its reabsorption. They therefore prevent the deposition of cholesterol in the arteries.

– Soy isoflavones: They have antioxidant activity. They help dilate blood vessels by reducing the concentration of LDL in the walls of arteries. They enhance the secretion of bile acid, thus helping to remove cholesterol from the blood.

– Inositol: Like choline, it promotes the extraction of fat from the liver. It helps prevent hardening of the arteries and is important in the formation of lecithin and in the metabolism of fats and cholesterol.

– VIT E: Antioxidant. Important in preventing the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases.
