Use

Vitamin B3 is water soluble and is found in various forms, which are known as Niacin. One of these forms is Nicotinamide, which is synonymous with Niacinamide and is generally recommended for supplements. The chemical structure of niacin is similar to that of the amino acid tryptophan and in fact our body can generate some amount of niacin from this amino acid. Niacin is found in abundance mainly in meat, fish and peanuts.

Niacin contributes to over 50 metabolic reactions in the body. It plays an important role in glycolysis, in the Krebs cycle and in the metabolic pathway of pentose phosphates, ie in all the metabolic pathways in which energy is produced from the nutrients of food. It is also essential for the metabolism of essential and non-essential fatty acids and the deamination of amino acids.

Playing an important role in the production of red blood cells, steroid hormones and cellular energy production, niacin is a vital ingredient in maintaining the integrity of all cells in the body.
