Asvaganda is an herb that grows mostly in India. It has traditionally been used in the Far East as an adaptive herb (and is therefore also known as Indian ginseng).
The most important phytochemicals are Vithanolides (or Guatinolides), which appear to have a similar structure and biological action to steroid hormones. Vitanolides (or guatinolides) in addition to adaptogenic properties (stress management) seem to have:
1. anti-inflammatory properties
2. adjuvant properties
3. Testosterone-boosting and sperm-improving properties
