Description
It is the acetylated form of L-carnitine and is characterized by increased absorption and bioavailability. Most carnitine clinical trials have been conducted in this form. Carnitine is a non-essential amino acid synthesized in the body by Lysine. Its most well-known metabolic function of carnitine is the transport of long-chain fatty acids to the mitochondria of muscle cells (including those of the myocardium) for oxidation.
