Cardioprotective – Cardiotonic

Contributes to the overall smooth functioning of the cardiovascular system.

CHARACTERISTICS:

• Causes vasodilation. Improves blood circulation to the heart and peripheral blood vessels.
• Enhances the function of the heart muscle and improves its contractility. It therefore acts as a cardioprotector.
• Regulates total lipid levels and prevents excessive platelet aggregation.
• Prevents the formation of clots and acts preventively against atherosclerosis.
• Exercises regulatory action on β-receptors relieving bronchospasm and shortness of breath.
• Reduces chest pain and palpitations (tachycardia).
• Exercises diuretic action reducing and preventing the formation of edema.
• Contributes to the maintenance of homeostasis and the general smooth functioning of the cardiovascular system.
